Research shows that gum disease may be connected to other diseases in the human body, such as heart disease, stroke and diabetes.  Many people today are now taking responsibility for better overall health and want choices for treatment in their own care. Here are some of the links between your mouth and your body:

Cardiovascular Disease:
Risk of heart disease is 1.5 to 2.7 times greater. Risk of stroke is 1.48 to 2.8 times greater.

Premature Births:
Gum disease has been linked to premature birth.

Increases the risk of gum disease, cavities, tooth loss, dry mouth and oral infections that may raise blood sugar levels.
Loss of bone density may make bone supporting the teeth susceptible to infectious destruction.

Other conditions:
Symptoms in the mouth may indicate certain cancers, eating disorders, stomach problems, syphilis, gonorrhea or substance abuse. Clean teeth will improve your overall health and wellness and bring you confidents to smile.
